ATLAS PILES

The ATLAS pile is a unique screw shaped pile designed to make maximum use of the available soil capacity.

It is a cast-in-place pile formed with a special displacement auger which compacts the ground as it penetrates.

No soil is removed and thus no spoil has to be disposed of.
The combined soil displacement and controlled extraction process leaves the efficient screw shaped shaft.

The ATLAS pile is a vibration free displacement pile. It is thus suitable for use close to sensitive structures and or installations containing delicate instruments, computers, etc.

A Flemish company that later became the Atlas Piling Company first built piling rigs  to form screw piles in the early 60’s. In 1984 Atlas became part of the Franki Group. The foundation division of which separated in 1998 to become Franki Geotechnics B of which Able piling is now a section of.

Key to the piles production is the high  torque and continuous high pull down (and uplift) available from the unique purpose built rigs.

ATLAS Pile Construction Sequence:

Position the rig.
Rotate and push the compression auger into the ground.
Auger to the founding depth or layer is reached, introduce concrete and central reinforcement (if required).
Extract auger with rotation and pull, introduce further concrete as necessary.
Complete the pile by inserting top reinforcement.
